A new amendment regarding the law of obtaining Turkish citizenship under the ownership of a property in Turkey

All the properties that have been started to be paid for installments as of 12/01/2017 and obtained its title deed after the date of 19/09/2019 are covered by the law of obtaining Turkish citizenship under the ownership of a property in Turkey, if the price of the property is not less than $250.000, and if the property price is less than this amount, another property can be purchased to complete the amount of $250.000.

 

Also, prior to the issuance of this amendment at the beginning of July 2019, foreigners were not able to benefit from Turkish citizenship law in case of buying a property from another foreigner, he must be a Turkish citizen or a Turkish company, after the date 12/01/2017 a foreigner can buy a property from another foreigner and apply for Turkish citizenship if the price of the property is not less than 250.000$.

 

Finally, if a property is purchased from a public sector company, there is no need to prove payment with official bank receipts when applying for Turkish citizenship, but bank receipts are required in case of purchasing properties from private companies or persons.
